Alejandro insisted that he has no regrets over how his time at Manchester United ended before he moved to Chelsea.

The 21-year-old made the switch from Old Trafford to Stamford Bridge in August for a reported £40m.

Garnacho broke into the United first team during the 2022-23 season and was tipped to be one of their key players in the future.

However, after expressing his frustration over Ruben Amorim’s decision not to start him in their Europa League final defeat against Tottenham, the winger was told to find a new club.

Garnacho has directly contributed to 27 goals (17 goals, 10 assists) in 102 Premier League appearances, 64 of which were starts, so far in his career.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League fixture against Atalanta, when asked if he had any regrets on how his time at United came to an end, Garnacho simply replied: “No.”

He continued: “I came here to play my football and show people the player I am.

“Sometimes in life, you have to change things to take a step forward or to improve as a player. I think it was the right moment and the right club. So it was an easy decision.

“I wanted to stay in the Premier League because I think it’s the best league in the world. I spoke with the manager [Enzo Maresca] before I came here and he explained to me the project, he convinced me and I’m really happy to be here.

“He explained to me everything and now working together, we are doing well. We are going to improve with time, it’s just three months together, and he trusts me and that is the most important thing for confidence, and I want to improve.”

Garnacho has featured 14 times for Chelsea, scoring twice and setting up two more goals.

Chelsea are set to play their 100th away game in the European Cup/Champions League. The Blues have 41 wins in 99 to date, already the most by any English side through their first 100 matches, and second only to Barcelona (44) overall.

However, Chelsea are winless in their previous four away games in the Champions League (D1 L3), last going five in a row without a victory in February 2012 (five).

After a loss to Bayern Munich (1-3) and a draw against Qarabag (2-2), Enzo Maresca could become just the third Chelsea boss to not win any of his first three away matches in charge in the competition, after Andre Villas-Boas (2011-12) and Luiz Felipe Scolari (2008-09).
