Manchester United are determined to land Greek wonderkid Christos Mouzakitis ahead of Real Madrid in January, according to Football Insider.
The Red Devils have their sights on bolstering their midfield department and they have been closely monitoring Mouzakitis over the last few months.
There has been a good response through the scouting team and United are prepared to test Olympiacos’ resolve at the beginning of the New Year.
Real Madrid are also in the hunt for the 18-year-old sensation, who recently starred against them in the Champions League despite a 4-3 defeat.
Olympiacos are said to be eyeing at least £30 million for the teenager and it remains to be seen whether either club will meet their transfer demands.
If their asking price is not met, the Greek giants are prepared to wait until the end of the campaign before contemplating his potential transfer.
Mouzakitis’ representatives are reportedly in contact with interested sides but as things stand, no official bid has been made for the player.
