Season 4 of Shoresy saw Jared Keeso’s beloved former hockey player take a major step forward as a character as he agreed to become a coach, but season 5 could satisfy a Jared Keeso character moment 15 seasons in the making. Season 4 represented a major turning point in Shoresy’s life, as he not only became a coach, but he also took his relationship with Laura Mohr to the next level. Shoresy season 4 is actually missing several major characters from the show’s previous seasons, with many anticipated to return for season 5 when a new season Bulldogs hockey starts.

That opens the door for even more cross-overs between Shoresy and the original show it spun off from, Letterkenny. While some characters make more sense than others (Jonesy and Reilly, for example) to make an appearance in Sudbury, the relative proximity to the fictional town of Letterkenny makes any character’s appearance believable. That sets up season 5 of Shoresy to finally execute a character moment that has been a long time coming.

Wayne And Shoresy Need A Scene Together

Keeso’s Two Most Famous Characters Should Get A Proper Back-And-Forth

As the mind behind both Letterkenny and Shoresy, Jared Keeso is responsible for the best jokes and character moments in both shows, many of which are delivered by his starring characters. With season 5 of Shoresy confirmed, Keeso has the opportunity to bring his two great characters together in a meaningful way for at least one scene. Keeso’s Wayne famously doesn’t venture far from Letterkenny, but it’s feasible that Wayne could make his way there for one reason or another. In fact, the Subury Blueberry Festival is a great reason for Wayne the farmer to wind up in Sudbury.

It wouldn’t be enough to just have Wayne make a cameo in Shoresy, appearing in an episode for a brief moment. It’s an opportunity for Keeso to put the different comedic styles of the two characters on full display, and have Wayne and Shoresy play off each other. Shoresy breaking down Wayne’s style (or lack thereof), manner of speaking, or another quirk is ripe for comedy gold from Keeso. Wayne’s interactions with the other Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs could be entertaining as well as a back-and-forth with Shoresy himself.

Wayne And Shoresy Have Technically Appeared On Screen Together Before

The Two Characters Have Already Met Face-To-Hidden-Face

If the two characters did get a real scene together, it wouldn’t actually be the first time that they’ve met face-to-face in the Letterkenny/Shoresy universe. In episode 6 of season 10 of Letterkenny, Shoresy and Wayne actually meet one another in the Letterkenny arena, where Shoresy is training alone and Wayne drives the zamboni. They share a brief handshake and Wayne wishes him luck as he heads north to play senior hockey, with Shoresy’s face of course remaining unrevealed throughout the scene, with the camera angled behind him.

Their meeting had been built up for a bit, as Wayne had watched Shoresy train in the arena on several occasions prior to driving the zamboni. He expressed his admiration for the young man’s work ethic, a trait that Wayne himself prides himself on. Wayne had also defended Shoresy from an assault by none other than Shoresy‘s JJ Frankie JJ and his goons, angry over an offense that Shoresy gave. Season 5 of Shoresy can follow up on that moment with an extended scene between Wayne and Shoresy, finally revealing both faces at the same time.
