Marvel May Soon End Miles Morales’ Hit Comic Series

Marvel hasn’t made it official yet, but fans believe that Miles Morales’ current ongoing series is ending at the start of next year, a move that has readers questioning what the company has in store for the younger version of Spider-Man. Miles’ current era has been a fan-favorite, but now it seems the end is in sight.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #42 is written by Cody Ziglar, with art by Marco Renna. The synopsis promises “the epic grand finale to the Rabble saga,” which began in the debut issue of this volume.

Ziglar’s three-year tenure on Miles Morales has been praised as a step forward for the character, and many Marvel fans don’t want it to be over.

It Looks Like Marvel’s “Miles Morales” Solo Series Is Ending At The Start Of 2026

There are no issues for Miles Morales: Spider-Man solicited beyond January, and many signs point to this being the final issue of the series. Whether that means a relaunch and renumbering, with author Cody Ziglar still at the helm, or if someone else will be stepping in to write Miles’ next chapter, all remain unclear at present.

There’s a reason Marvel readers are unhappy with this news, though, beyond just the series ending. The previous volume of Miles Morales: Spider-Man, which ran from 2018 through 2022, ended at 42 issues, marking it as Miles’ longest running solo series at the time. Meaning that Ziglar’s run would need just one more issue to break that record.

And in only eight more issues, Miles Morales: Spider-Man would reach the 50-issue marker. This is an increasingly rare distinction for modern Marvel Comics, but it is one Miles deserves as one of the publisher’s most popular characters. As is often the case, Marvel readers question whether a relaunch is necessary for the hero.

2026 Should Be A Big Year For Miles Morales, But Marvel Is Denying Him A Milestone Moment

How Is Marvel Going To Celebrate 15 Years Of Miles?

2026 is a big year for Miles Morales; August officially marks fifteen years since his introduction to the Marvel Universe. It’s safe to guess that Marvel has plans to celebrate: big storylines, big crossover appearances, maybe a new Spider-suit. All of these boxes could be checked early in the year if he plays the pivotal role in Ultimate Endgame fans expect.

If Miles Morales: Spider-Man continued until at least September 2026, it would hit the milestone fiftieth issue. So, if readers are correct in predicting that Miles Morales: Spider-Man #42 will be its swan song, it is a curious move on Marvel’s part. Fans can hope that Marvel proves them wrong, but the odds seem to be in favor of the series finishing its run.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #42 will be available in January 2026 from Marvel Comics.
