Resurrection Star Discusses Potential Villain Return in Season 2

Dexter: Resurrection star speaks out about the potential for a villain to return to the series.

Jack Alcott, who plays Dexter’s son Harrison, spoke with Deadline regarding who could potentially be returning for Dexter: Resurrection season 2. Alcott is asked about the character Charley (played by Uma Thurman) and her potential to return following the threat she made to Harrison:

“I hadn’t thought about that, but I guess that’s very possible. But at the same time, she got out of that pretty clean. She’d have to have a personal thing to want to hunt down Harrison.”

Dexter: Resurrection is part of the franchise stemming from the 2004 novel by Jeff Lindsay titled Darkly Dreaming Dexter, which was made into a successful eight-season crime drama. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is unlike his friends and family and colleagues, he lives by a code and uses that code to bring justice to criminals.

Spoilers ahead for Dexter: Resurrection.

Thurman’s character Charley was nearly killed by Dexter during the final few episodes of season 1. Dexter threatened her life to ensure she wouldn’t be a problem and to find out more about Peter Dinklage’s character Leon Prater and his plans.

Charley escaped with her poorly mother and that was the last we saw of her. However, nobody stays quiet for long and chances are Charley has some unfinished business with the Morgan boys.

Dexter: Resurrection is highly favored for a spin-off series and currently has a 95% Rotten Tomatoes rating. It also broke records for Showtime’s most-streamed premiere and drew in 3.1 million globally within three days. It has also become one of the highest-rated shows in IMDb history.

Resurrection followed another Dexter spin-off titled Dexter: New Blood, which followed the events of the highly controversial season 8 finale. New Blood showed Dexter and Harrison finally having a reunion, but in typical fashion, they had to deal with murder and mayhem.

The spin-off was officially renewed for season 2 by Paramount+ earlier this month, but not much more has been revealed, including when the series will be released. Hall made a typically creepy announcement video and stated, “The writers room is assembling.”

It’s unclear who will be returning to the second season of Resurrection, but it’s clear Hall and Alcott want to continue showing how dysfunctional a father and son can be while also providing laughs and shock along the way.
