Rashid Khan reclaims ICC No. 1 ODI bowling spot; Kuldeep Yadav achieves career-best Test rankings



Rashid Khan has reclaimed the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings, thanks to his match-winning performances in Afghanistan’s 3-0 ODI series victory over Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi. Rashid took 11 wickets at an average of just 6.09, including a brilliant five-wicket haul that dismantled Bangladesh’s batting lineup.

Rashid Khan dethrones Keshav Maharaj in ICC ODI Rankings

With 710 rating points, Rashid now sits 30 points ahead of South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, reaffirming his dominance in the global spin-bowling circuit. This marks his first return to the top since November 2024, continuing a remarkable journey that began when he first rose to No. 1 in 2018. His consistency, control, and wicket-taking ability have once again set the benchmark for white-ball bowlers worldwide.

Kuldeep Yadav climbs to career-best Test Rankings

India’s Kuldeep Yadav has achieved a new career-best Test rankings, jumping seven places to 14th in the latest ICC Test Bowling Rankings. His stellar eight-wicket haul against the West Indies in Delhi highlighted his growing prowess and adaptability in red-ball cricket.

Kuldeep’s recent form reinforces India’s enviable depth in spin bowling, joining veterans Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja among the top-ranked Test bowlers. His sharp turn, flight, and variations have made him a vital weapon for India in home and overseas Tests.

Other notable changes in the ICC Rankings 

Afghanistan’s cricketing rise continues, with Ibrahim Zadran moving up to No. 2 in the ICC ODI Batting Rankings, the highest-ever position achieved by an Afghan batter. His 213-run tally in the Bangladesh series showcased his reliability and class at the top order.

Meanwhile, Azmatullah Omarzai reached No. 1 among ODI all-rounders, further cementing Afghanistan’s growing influence in international cricket.
