Disney’s popular trading card game, Disney Lorcana, continues to grow and evolve with each additional expansion set, and the upcoming set, Whispers in the Well, is changing the game yet again with its new Whisper Glimmers and a Boost mechanic. Whispers in the Well will be the tenth set for Disney Lorcana and is full of mystery and delight as characters try to piece together what is happening in the world of Lorcana.
Disney Lorcana: Whispers in the Well is releasing this November, starting with special pre-release sales on November 7 and then the full launch on November 14. ScreenRant has been given the exclusive to reveal four cards from the set, including one delightfully evil Ursula card, which is one of the new Whisper Glimmers of the set.
Four Exclusive Disney Lorcana Card Reveals
Ursula, Della Duck, Duckworth, And A Recovered Page
The story behind Whispers in the Well is that characters such as Webby Vanderquack, Basil, and others are working to solve the mysteries waiting deep in the Inkwell Caverns and figure out what these Whisper Glimmers are. “Whispers” are a new classification of Glimmers that have been summoned from a torn or damaged lorebook page, which causes the Whispers to not be entirely formed.
This makes the “Recovered Page” item card here intriguing. Though it does not have any specific reference to Whispers in its abilities, one can imagine that it may be one of the sources of Whispers.
Other reveals include the Amber ink card, “Della Duck: Returning Mother” and Amethyst ink’s “Duckworth: Ghost Butler”, as well as one of the brand-new Whispers, “Ursula: Whisper of Vanessa” with its stunning artwork. All four of the cards are fairly general rarities, not like the new Iconic or even Epic rarities, which can be harder to come by, which means that, hopefully, we will all get a chance to see them in play.
Brand New Boost Ability Cards And Whisper Glimmers In Disney Lorcana
New Classifications And Game Mechanics
Looking closely, one can see there is a beautifully stylized difference to the border of the new “Ursula: Whisper of Vanessa” which makes the Whisper Glimmer stand out from traditional Glimmers. The card also features the Boost ability, a new card mechanic for Disney Lorcana.
Using Boost on this card, players can pay 1 ink to put the top card of their deck facedown under Ursula’s card. Then, as long as there’s a card under to Boost it, Ursula will get an additional lore when questing and gains Evasive.
Other cards debuted here, such as the “Della Duck: Returning Mother” and “Duckworth: Ghost Butler” have abilities that are beneficial to those with the Boost mechanic. For example, when Della is played, a character with Boost can be readied, protecting them from challenges.
These are just a few of the exciting new cards that are coming with Disney Lorcana: Whispers in the Well next month, and I can’t wait to see how players will use these cards in their decks.
