Bayern Munich made a shock move to sign Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber during the recent summer transfer window, according to Caught Offside.
The Netherlands international signed for the Gunners from Ajax in the summer of 2023. He had an injury-plagued debut campaign with just three appearances.
However, he redeemed himself in his second year. The Dutchman was hugely consistent and ended up making 48 appearances for the club.
Timber has three more years remaining on his current deal with the Gunners, but talks are presently underway over an improved contract.
Amidst this, Caught Offside claim that Bayern made contact with the player’s entourage over the summer to discuss a possible transfer.
However, the German champions were met by a cold response. Timber’s agents made it clear that he has no desire to leave the Gunners.
Timber has already given the green light for a new long-term deal and it is only a matter of time before he commits to a renewal at Arsenal.
