India’s stronghold on Day 2 against West Indies
India seized control of the match in a commanding display during Day 2. After the early loss of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan, Rahul steadied the innings with a masterful 100 off 197 deliveries, featuring 12 fours. His resilient effort allowed India to surpass the West Indies total and carry considerable momentum into the next sessions. Gill contributed notable support with a composed 50, but it was the partnership between Jurel and Jadeja that truly defined Indian dominance on the day.
The pair’s unbeaten stand took India to above 400 runs during the ongoing third session of Day 2, with Jadeja himself unbeaten on 86 runs off 151 balls, nourishing India’s advantage beyond 230 runs. The partnership added 150 runs, frustrating the West Indies bowling lineup, which included efforts from Jayden Seales, Roston Chase, and others. India maintained a steady scoring rate of 3.34 runs per over, indicating a blend of control and attacking intent.
