Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has broken his silence on the nature of his Manchester United exit during the summer transfer window.
The Argentine was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Ruben Amorim, and he eventually made the move to the Blues on deadline day.
Garnacho has since settled into his new club. He has yet to become a regular starter, but he is delighted to be playing in the Champions League with them.
He told TNT Sports: “I think it was a difficult moment there, just training alone.”
“But I have nothing bad to say about the club, my old club Manchester United.
“It was just a bad moment in life but now I’m very happy to be here and to play in this competition and to get the three points today.”
Chelsea picked up their first win of the Champions League campaign after a 1-0 victory over Benfica. An own goal from Richard Rios sealed the three points.
