Lineups, team news, confirmed starting teams for last-16 tie

With their Premier League title challenge fading, it’s Champions League or bust for Arsenal this season in terms of silverware.

The Gunners have what, on the surface, appears to be a favourable last-16 tie as they face reigning Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven.

But PSV have an exciting young side that dispatched of Juventus in the playoff round, meaning Arsenal can ill-afford to rest on their laurels across the two-legged tie.

The first task for Mikel Arteta’s side is to negotiate the visit to the Philips Stadion, and 101GreatGoals.com has you covered for the line-ups, team news and confirmed starting sides.

PSV Eindhoven lineup vs Arsenal

PSV go with the same front four that tormented Juventus in their 3-1 win in the second leg of the playoff round, with Luuk de Jong playing in front of the trio of Ivan Perisic, Nathaniel Lang and Ismael Saibari.

Their changes from that game are at the back and in midfield. Tyrell Malacia plays at left-back with Mauro Junior left out.

In midfield, Guus Til comes in for Joey Veerman, who has to be content with a place on the bench.

PSV Eindhoven starting XI: Benitez, Ledezma, Flamingo, Boscagli, Malacia, Saibari, Schouten, Til, Perisic, de Jong, Lang
Subs: Drommel, Schiks, Karsdorp, Obispo, Bakayoko, Driouech, Veerman, Babadi, Land, Nagalo

Arsenal lineup vs PSV Eindhoven

Left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly is back in the Arsenal team having served his domestic suspension, which saw him miss last week’s draw at Nottingham Forest.

Also coming back into the XI is midfielder Thomas Partey, with Jorginho and Riccardo Calafiori making way.

Arsenal’s lack of forward options means Mikel Merino continues up front, with Ethan Nwaneri and Leandro Trossard either side of the Spain international.

Arsenal starting XI: Raya, Timber, Lewis-Skelly, Saliba, Gabriel, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Nwaneri, Trossard, Merino.
Subs: Neto, Setford, White, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Tierney, Calafiori, Jorginho, Sterling, Butler-Oyedeji, Kabia
