September 30th: Tuesday’s Champions League Double – 5/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With Europe’s elite club tournament getting back underway on Tuesday night, we have a stacked Champions League schedule from across the continent.

As Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea steal centre stage, we have nine European showdowns on Tuesday.

Ahead of what is a mouth-watering night of Champions League action, we have taken a look at some of the most interesting betting markets which are available.

20:00 Atletico Madrid vs Eintracht Frankfurt

While Atletico Madrid might have got the new campaign underway in the midst of a public struggle, Diego Simeone’s men have certainly turned a real corner over the past week. Putting in what was a famous performance on home soil over the weekend as they stormed their way to a sensational 5-2 victory against arch-rivals Real Madrid, Tuesday’s hosts have now won their previous two La Liga showdowns by an aggregate score of 8-4. Although the Spanish heavyweights might have shown some extended defensive issues so far this season, Atletico have found quite the clinical edge in the final third. Despite getting their Champions League adventure underway with a last-gasp 3-2 defeat away at Liverpool on September 17th, Simeone’s side have registered at least a pair of goals in four of their previous five appearances across all competitions. Atletico have also notched consecutive La Liga victories for just the second time since the middle of April.

Making real history last season as they secured a bronze medal finish among Germany’s elite, Eintracht Frankfurt have enjoyed a rollercoaster start to proceedings this time around. Claiming an immediate response over the weekend as they eventually clinched a pulsating 6-4 victory away at Borussia Monchengladbach, Dino Toppmoller’s side have certainly gained a reputation for their action-packed showdowns. Despite marking their return from September’s international break with a 3-1 drumming at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen, the Eagles opened their respective Champions League adventure with a dominant display on September 18th. Cruising their way to a remarkable 5-1 romp at home against Galatasaray, Frankfurt are more than capable of asking some serious questions here. However, along with shipping a quartet of goals in their back-to-back Bundesliga appearances over the past week, it should also be noted that Toppmoller’s camp have conceded 12 goals in their previous four outings.

20:00 Marseille vs Ajax

While Marseille might have got their respective Champions League adventure underway with a 2-1 loss away Spanish icons Real Madrid a fortnight ago, Tuesday’s hosts haven’t shown any signs of a hangover. Clinching what was a famous 1-0 victory against bitter domestic rivals and reigning European champions PSG, Roberto De Zerbi’s men have won all of their previous three consecutive Ligue 1 appearances by an aggregate score of 7-1. Marking their return from September’s international break with a routine 4-0 romp against Lorient, the former Brighton boss has seen his squad gain a real reputation for their success on home soil. Including a 5-2 victory against Ligue 1 debutants Paris FC on August 23rd, Marseille have won all of their first three showdowns at the Stade Velodrome by an aggregate score of 10-2. It should also be noted, De Zerbi’s men have suffered just a single defeat in front of their own supporters within 90 minutes so far this calendar year.

Suffering what was an infamous collapse last season as they remarkably failed to drag themselves to a 37th domestic crown, Ajax rightfully come under a tremendous amount of scrutiny over the summer interval. Although the Dutch giants might have claimed a 2-1 win at home against NAC Breda over the weekend, John Heitinga’s side have failed to find any kind of stability. Getting their European campaign underway with a 2-0 loss at home against last year’s finalists Inter Milan, Tuesday’s guests have failed to record consecutive wins since opening up the 2025/26 campaign. In fact, continuing on from last season, Ajax have also failed to notch back-to-back victories across any competition since the middle of April. Facing what should be a stern examination here, the former Liverpool coach will also have a real headache over his side’s extended defensive struggles. Mustering just a single clean sheet from any of their last seven outings, Ajax are pencilled in as a landslide underdog in midweek.
