Asia Cup 2025 [WATCH]: Sahibzada Farhan smashes bat on pitch in anger after becoming victim of Varun Chakravarthy in IND vs PAK final

The tension of an IndiaPakistan clash always guarantees a moment that shifts the course of the game, and at Sharjah, that moment arrived in the 10th over of Asia Cup 2025 final. Pakistan were cruising at 84/0, with Sahibzada Farhan dictating terms against the Indian attack. He had already crossed a fluent half-century, showcasing clean strokes and fearless intent. His controlled aggression had silenced the Indian supporters while giving Pakistan an ideal launchpad. But as is often the case in such high-pressure duels, a single misjudgment became the turning point.

Asia Cup 2025 final, IND vs PAK: Sahibzada Farhan’s fierce reaction after dismissal

On 9.4, Varun Chakravarthy delivered a ball that wasn’t express pace but carried deception. Shortish, angled on middle and off, it skidded on with just a touch of spin back in. Farhan, brimming with confidence, looked to muscle it away over the leg side, but the delivery cramped him for space at the last moment. The shot came awkwardly off the bottom half of his bat, sending the ball looping toward deep mid-wicket. Tilak Varma, stationed perfectly, steadied himself and completed the catch with composure.

What followed was raw emotion, Farhan, visibly furious with his mistake, smacked his bat against the pitch in frustration before trudging off. His 57 off 38 balls, decorated with five boundaries and three sixes, had been the innings Pakistan needed up front, but the way it ended left him seething. The dismissal didn’t just hurt Pakistan’s scoreboard momentum; it stripped them of their set batter at a crucial juncture. For India, it was the wicket they had been desperately craving, a dismissal that opened the door back into the contest. For Farhan, though, it was a bitter pill, an innings built on dominance, undone by one mistimed swipe.

India in control as Pakistan struggles in Asia Cup 2025 final

The grand finale of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium has seen plenty of drama already, but India appears to be firmly in control. Pakistan, after being sent in to bat by skipper Suryakumar Yadav, raced to 84/1 in under 10 overs on the back of Farhan’s fiery half-century and Fakhar Zaman’s steady support. However, the innings quickly unraveled after Farhan’s dismissal to Chakravarthy. What followed was a collapse that saw Pakistan lose seven wickets for just 51 runs, slipping from a position of strength to 135/8 in 17 overs. Kuldeep Yadav turned the tide spectacularly, delivering a dream spell of 4 wickets for 30 runs, dismantling the middle and lower order with guile and accuracy.

Axar Patel also chipped in with two crucial strikes, while Chakravarthy’s double blow provided the breakthrough India was desperately searching for. Pakistan’s batting, once threatening to breach 170+, has now been reduced to survival mode, with Mohammad Nawaz and Haris Rauf clinging on to salvage a defendable score. India’s bowlers have maintained relentless pressure, backed by sharp fielding, while Pakistan’s famed batting depth has crumbled under the lights in Dubai. With just under three overs left and Abrar Ahmed the only batter yet to arrive, Pakistan faces an uphill task to reach even 150. The momentum has decisively shifted India’s way, putting Suryakumar’s men in pole position to chase a modest target in their quest for the Asia Cup crown.
