Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a fresh injury blow ahead of the Carabao Cup third round tie against Port Vale on the road tomorrow.
The north London giants played out a 1-1 draw against Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend. Gabriel Martinelli salvaged a point for the Gunners with a 93rd minute equaliser.
The Gunners will now focus on the League Cup game at Vale Park. Ahead of the encounter, Arteta has revealed that Piero Hincapie won’t be involved, having picked up a small groin injury.
The Ecuadorian is expected to be sidelined for a few days and won’t be involved in the Cup tie against Port Vale. Hence, he will have to wait longer for his full debut for the Gunners.
While Hincapie is absent, Arteta confirmed that Kepa Arrizabalaga will make his debut between the sticks while Myles Lewis-Skelly looks set to start in the left wing-back position.
There could also be starts for Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard, Ben White, Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri against the League One side.
