No anime movies in history have quite as much hype behind them as Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 and Part 3, which is why fans are eagerly anticipating any news of release dates. Though nothing has officially been announced, Crunchyroll’s CEO just dropped the first update on the movies, and it’s unfortunately not the update fans had hoped for.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to celebrate Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1’s unprecedented success in North America, Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini was asked about the release date for the movie’s sequels. To the disappointment of many, Purini confirmed that Aniplex and Ufotable have yet to decide on a release date.
Well, we’ve announced that it will be a trilogy of movies, but our partners at Aniplex and Ufotable haven’t decided on dates yet. But look, there’s definitely urgency for all of us to bring more Demon Slayer to fans as soon as we can — because we know the urgency is there among the fanbase.
