Adolescence Re-Enters Netflix Top 10 Chart After Emmy Wins

After breaking records at the Emmys, Netflix‘s biggest series of 2025 soars onto the streamer’s Top 10 chart months after it was originally released. Netflix had multiple original TV shows up for the Emmys, from The Diplomat season 2 for Outstanding Drama to Nobody Wants This for Outstanding Comedy. But Adolescence wound up being the star of the show.

The critically-acclaimed Adolescence focuses on young boy Jamie Millier, who is accused of killing his classmate. The British miniseries won eight of the 27 Emmys it was nominated for, including for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Actor Owen Cooper, who played Jamie, became the youngest actor ever to win Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Now, Netflix reports that Adolescence is back on their streaming charts just one week after its many wins at the Emmys. The show is currently sitting at Number 3 on their Top 10 charts, signaling renewed interest, even six months after the series was originally released. It goes to show the longevity of its success and its heart-rending message.

Adolescence was already a success on Netflix prior to its Emmy wins. As of writing, the show sits at Number 2 for the most-watched English-language TV show of all time on the platform, sporting 142.6 million viewers and 546.5 million hours viewed. The eight Emmy wins only serve to strengthen its placement as a vital part of Netflix’s content library.

Given the cast of Adolescence won a number of awards, coupled with its writers and director, the series proved itself one of 2025’s best miniseries on a massive scale. This no doubt helped with its renewed interest, since the climbing viewership might be those who weren’t aware of its massive success prior to the number of awards it won.

The drama miniseries has already made a massive mark on the world, from its Emmy wins to being shown in UK secondary schools following its critical acclaim. Its grounded, realistic storytelling has likely helped it maintain such a high place in Netflix’s rankings after so long, thanks to its gripping premise and unique one-take approach to every episode.

Since it was reported in April 2025 that Adolescence season 2 may be in development, Netflix could capitalize on the show’s increased viewership by teasing what’s to come. Even without future episodes or stories to be told, the series’ narrative makes it worthy of its Emmy wins, and equally worth watching, as evident by its resurgence in popularity.
