Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has said that the Red Devils deserved to beat Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils hosted the Blues at Old Trafford earlier today, and they made a perfect start as goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off after just five minutes.
United capitalised on the man advantage to score goals through Fernandes and Casemiro. Right before the interval, things leveled up with Casemiro’s sending off.
Casemiro was already walking a tightrope with a yellow card, and his foul on Andrey Santos paved the way for his marching orders before the break.
The Blues dominated proceedings after the interval, but they scored just one goal. Reece James‘ delivered a fabulous cross for Trevoh Chalobah to head home.
Speaking after the game, Fernandes said that the Red Devils defended really well and got the result that the club wanted in the end.
He said: “We had one more man on the pitch before Casemiro was sent off. We defended really well and even conceding one goal, we got the result that we wanted at the end.”
