Ginny & Georgia Season 4 Filming Update: Production Begins September 2025

Three months after the divisive third season was released, Ginny & Georgia season 4 receives an exciting filming update. The show was renewed for seasons 3 and 4 in 2023 following the massive viewership for season 2, which was Netflix’s second most-watched show in the first half of that year.

There were many plot twists in Ginny & Georgia season 3, including more than one surprise pregnancy, Ginny becoming more like her mother, and Georgia and Paul’s relationship ending for good. Despite receiving high viewership again, many of these plot twists proved to be divisive, and left fans eager to see what happens next in season 4.

According to What’s On Netflix, production offices are now back open ahead of Ginny & Georgia season 4 filming beginning on September 29. Check out the post below:

Filming being about to start is a great sign that there will be a shorter wait for season 4 than there was for season 3. After releasing season 2 in January 2023, season 3 didn’t come out until June 2025, leaving fans waiting for two and a half years after Georgia was arrested during Ginny & Georgia 2’s cliffhanger ending.

This delay was largely due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in 2023, but the show’s creative team has also taken steps to ensure the quick turnaround for season 4. The writers room was confirmed to have convened in February, months ahead of season 3’s release on Netflix.

With filming beginning in 2025, there is a chance that the new season could debut in late 2026. The show is now closer than ever to answering questions about what happens next after Georgia’s surprise pregnancy, Ginny becoming more ruthless, Marcus going to rehab, and Georgia’s mother and stepfather coming to Wellsbury with nefarious intentions.

Our Take On Ginny & Georgia Season 4’s Filming Update

After Ginny & Georgia season 3’s ending, season 4’s filming update indicates that a positive trend is continuing in streaming television. There seems to be more of an effort to deliver a faster turnaround between seasons, and these efforts have paid off with the new season about to go into production.

Beyond the frustration of waiting so long, another issue with the hiatus was that Ginny’s brother, Austin, and his classmate, Zach, looked years older than they were supposed to be by the time season 3 came out. A time skip in Ginny & Georgia season 4 could be beneficial, but regardless, a shorter gap between seasons is ideal.
