Liverpool enter Isak pursuit

Liverpool have now entered the race to sign Arsenal target Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Merseyside giants are preparing for a busy summer transfer window and a marquee striker is one of the top priorities for manager Arne Slot.

Darwin Nunez has emerged as a huge flop since his move from Benfica and he is widely expected to be sold amid interest from Saudi clubs.

Amidst this, it is claimed that the Reds are lining up a move for Isak, who could leave the Magpies unless they qualify for the Champions League.

The Reds could be prepared to pay more than £83 million for the 25-year-old, who has bagged 22 goals in all competitions this campaign.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the former Real Sociedad man, but the Reds will be optimistic of convincing him.

Isak is committed to the Tyneside outfit, but he is likely to push for a new challenge if the Magpies don’t qualify for the Champions League.
