Prime Video Partners With FOX One, Features Expanded Sports & News Content

It has been announced that Prime Video is partnering with a new streamer, FOX One. Owned by the eponymous studio, the new streaming service first launched on August 21, and includes both live and on-demand programming from their libraries, including everything from Hell’s Kitchen to The Simpsons.

With FOX One, viewers can also enjoy sports and news programming, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, NASCAR, NFL’s Thursday Night Football, and the NBA. The service was first announced at an event held by Pete Distad, who once worked for Apple, though no deals had been set for it to be hosted on any additional platforms.

Now, in a LinkedIn post, Mike Hopkins, who serves as the Head of Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, has unveiled that for $19.99 per month, Prime Video subscribers will have full access to FOX One, and will be available to all users who have downloaded the Prime Video app, with the possibility to cancel anytime. Check out Hopkins’ comments below:

I’m thrilled to share that starting today, FOX One is available to Prime Video customers across the U.S. This significant addition brings the full spectrum of FOX brands directly to our streaming platform, including FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX Sports, FOX Local Stations, and much more – all accessible for $19.99/month.

This partnership enhances our live sports offerings at Prime Video, reinforcing our vision as a premier destination for sports fans. We are extremely proud of our exclusive U.S. sports lineup (Thursday Night Football, NBA, WNBA and NASCAR), and now FOX One brings additional high-profile sports our customers have been asking for: NFL Sunday afternoon games, MLB postseason and World Series coverage, NASCAR’s Daytona 500, Big 10 college football, and the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Including Fox News, Fox Business and Fox’s local television stations adds to our growing lineup of News options so that our customers can stay plugged into local, national and world events.

What excites me most is how this addition perfectly aligns with our strategy of creating an integrated entertainment experience where customers can access everything they love in one place. No additional apps to download. Just the convenience and selection that Prime Video customers expect.

By bringing together the technology and customer focus of Prime Video with premier content partners like FOX, we’re creating something truly unique in the streaming world.

I want to thank our partners at FOX (many of whom I consider friends, having spent a large part of my career at FOX) for working with us to bring their outstanding content portfolio to Prime Video customers. This is another important milestone as we continue building the most comprehensive entertainment service possible.

Looking forward to seeing how our customers enjoy this expanded offering!

What This Means For Prime Video and Fox One

Fox has previously expressed uncertainty about streaming in the past, but this news indicates that the ever-successful company is deciding to dip their toes into the popular, modern way to view TV programs. Based on the fact that FOX One was announced so suddenly, it seems likely that more streaming announcements involving the studio could occur soon.

What could also come out of this situation, based on Hopkins’ positive comments, is that Prime Video, which already offers several original comedy movies, could create original content with FOX One. Currently, there are exclusive Fox shows that are available only to people who subscribe to Prime Video with the new service, so this could expand based on this information.

Additionally, this new partnership could also see Prime Video and Fox teaming for expansions of properties the latter studio owns. A good portion of Prime Video’s library, including their hit Reacher and Boys franchises, are co-productions between Amazon MGM and other studios, making it possible for them to team on new projects, particularly with the impending closure of Hulu’s solo service.

Our Take On The FOX One Prime Video Merger

It seems that a good way to ensure the success of a new streaming service is to group it with something that’s already well-known. That way, people feel less skeptical about subscribing because it’s within something familiar to them, making this merger a very smart move overall.

FOX One is available specifically in the US.

It seems likely that this merger will bring in great profits for both the Amazon MGM platform and FOX One, and there will now be more to watch on Prime Video. Although, since the new streaming service just launched, only time will tell whether the merger will prove to be a success or not.

Prime Video is Amazon’s streaming service that began as Amazon Unbox back in September 2006. The streaming service has gone through many rebrandings over the year but has managed to successfully compete with other streamers such as Netflix, Max, and Disney+. Some of their most notable titles include The Boys, Carnival Row, and Sound of Metal.
