Nkunku headed for Italy

Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku is one step closer to completing his Blues’ exit, after last night Inter Milan reportedly agreed a fee of around 32 million euros for the French international. Nkunku has failed to live up to expectations and will depart Stamford Bridge as Chelsea seek to balance the books.

The 27-year-old France international arrived at Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023, signing a six-year deal, but with six Premier League goals in 38 games, he is set for a departure elsewhere.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg confirmed that Inter Milan have officially expressed interest in signing the 27‑year‑old French forward from Chelsea. Inter’s primary focus remains Ademola Lookman, with whom they reportedly have a “100  percent verbal agreement” – though the deal is not yet finalized. Multiple sources indicate that Inter views Nkunku as a cost-effective alternative to other attacking targets.

Financially, this aligns with Inter’s strategy: they were reportedly ready to pay 40 million euros for Lookman and may have similar budget flexibility for Nkunku if needed.

Chelsea have signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro as replacement strikers so far this summer.
