Chelsea’s pursuit of new players shows no signs of stopping as the club aim to battle with Serie A giants Napoli to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. The Argentinian winger has been told that he is free to leave Old Trafford, as Napoli prepare a 55 million euro bid, but the Stamford Bridge outfit are confident that a deal can be hijacked and are expected to make contact with Man Utd’s representatives this week.
Garnacho has played 144 games for Man Utd, scoring 26 goals, and for many is seen as one of the club’s best young players in recent seasons. But it is known manager Ruben Amorim is ready to let the 21-year-old depart the club for a new challenge, as the Portuguese boss seeks to rebuild his squad ahead of the new campaign. Garnacho has been vocal and outspoken in recent times, leading United’s board to prepare for the player’s departure.
Ruben Amorim dropped both Garnacho and Marcus Rashford in 2024, and Garnacho missed out on the Europa League final much to the player’s distate. It is understood that Chelsea still believe Garnacho would be willing to move to London instead of Naples, and an offer is to be submitted shortly.
