How To Complete The Cruise Ship Stunt Gauntlet In Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4

Most of the base game goals in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 are pretty straightforward and can be figured out without very much searching or looking around. However, there are a few exceptions to this, as some parks have secret areas or quirks that can be used to complete specific goals. In the case of the Cruise Ship Stunt Gauntlet, however, it can be pretty confusing exactly what you’re expected to do if you don’t know where to look, but luckily there are super-helpful clues spelled out on the map if you pay close attention.

The Cruise Ship is one of the best-returning maps from the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, with new and improved goals and features that will put your skills to the ultimate test. It has the most “complicated” goals of the THPS 3 maps, at least until you unlock Pro Goals. There are a handful of unique and challenging goals for the Cruise Ship map, but easily the trickiest one is the Stunt Gauntlet, which requires players to complete three separate stunts around the map that can be difficult to track down if you don’t know where to look.

Complete Three Stunts & Claim Your Gold Medal For This THPS 3+4 Goal

Much like the original THPS 1+2 remake, each map has a set of unique goals and challenges for skaters to complete during Career Mode that are previewed at the very beginning during the Goal Flythrough. For the Cruise Ship Stunt Gauntlet goal, the preview doesn’t give you a ton of information, thus making it a little confusing to figure out at first exactly what you’re meant to do. However, if you look closely at the map, there are directions on the ground that explain what you’re supposed to do and where you’re supposed to do it.

THPS 3+4 is available as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass, so there’s really no excuse not to play if you’re a subscriber and a fan of the franchise.

One easy way to read this is to enter Photo Mode and fly around to find each location so you know where you’re headed. There are three different Stunt Gauntlet stunts around the Cruise Ship: Grab the Chopper, Grind the 808, and Manual the Shops. You can perform the ‘Grab the Chopper’ stunt directly across the high wires at the start location, on the funnel. The helicopter will fly over as soon as you begin your run, so wait for it to get in position before attempting the stunt.

Tony Hawk has weighed in on which of his video games he thinks deserves an adaptation most after the upcoming release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.

The Grind the 808 stunt can be found on the port side of the Cruise Ship, or if you’re not an expert in maritime terms, on the left side of the ship if you’re facing the front of the boat. There’s a ramp on either side of the 808 rail with the “instructions” that you can use to do the stunt. You’ll need to hit the inside rail that goes in a figure-8 pattern, not the outside rail that simply goes in a circle.

For the Manual the Shops stunt, head to the starboard side of the Cruise Ship, or the right side if you’re facing the front of the boat. You’ll see a row of shops and some flags next to a line of benches, with the directions for the stunt on the floor on both ramps leading up on either side.

How To Complete The Cruise Ship Stunts & Finish The Gauntlet

Perform All Three Stunts Without Bailing To Complete The Gauntlet

Now that you know where each of the three stunts are located for the Cruise Ship Stunt Gauntlet, it’s time to actually complete the stunts. I’d start with arguably the most challenging of these, which is the ‘Grab the Chopper’ stunt. First, from the starting location, grind across the high wires to the funnel and wait for the helicopter to get into position. Once it’s there, you can use the small lip underneath it to jump up and “grab” the chopper with a lip trick. It doesn’t matter exactly which trick you use, as long as you land it cleanly.

There’s no specific order in which you need to do the Stunt Gauntlet, but I find it much easier to do the Grab the Chopper stunt first so you can start over right away if you mess up.

Next, head for the Grind the 808 stunt on the port side of the ship and use the ramp to jump up to the figure-8 rail. You’ll need to grind this with any grind trick all the way around in a complete cycle, and you’ll get a notification when you’re halfway done. Be sure to land this cleanly, or it won’t count toward the goal. You can also impress some skaters while you do this, which is another goal for the Cruise Ship.

Hands-On: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 Is All About Giving Gamers The Perfect “Skater Fantasy,” And It Succeeds

During a hands-on preview for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, Screen Rant got the chance to explore the new parks and live the “Skater Fantasy.”

Finally, you can head to the opposite side of the ship for the Manual the Shops stunt. Use any manual trick across the entire row of shops to complete this, but if you do something fancy you’ll also be able to impress some skaters here as well. Now that you’ve completed all three stunts, you need to go collect your gold medal at the front of the ship.

Collect Your Gold Medal & Unlock A “Secret” Area

THPS 3+4 Cruise Ship Stunt Gauntlet Gold Medal

Once you’ve completed all three stunts, you’ll need to head up to the showroom at the very front of the Cruise Ship that has a giant gold medal on it. This can be accessed through the mini-golf course or from the main deck with the swimming pool and slide. Once there, you’ll need to wall plant the giant gold medal, which will start a cutscene that shows the gold medal rolling around the ship and breaking open a brand-new area. This will officially complete the Stunt Gauntlet goal, and also give you access to the final cash collectible.

Overall, the Cruise Ship Stunt Gauntlet isn’t super difficult to complete, but it does require a bit of looking around. If you aren’t paying close attention, the directions on the ground indicating where and what the stunts are can easily be missed, and you may find yourself roaming around aimlessly trying to figure out what to do. This isn’t an overly complicated goal in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, but if you don’t see the instructions, it can be hard to figure out.
