However, that does not stop the streamer from trying. In order to maximize these films’ success potential, Netflix will regularly call upon big stars. One such action lead is Charlize Theron, who has previously been great in movies like Mad Max: Fury Road. Theron led one of the rare great sci-fi action Netflix films, whose sequel comes out soon.

Theron played the lead role in one of Netflix’s best sci-fi action films, The Old Guard. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the 2020 movie focused on a group of people whose superpowered immortality abilities are exposed to the world. Then, the group must evade those who want to replicate their power.
The Old Guard got great reviews upon its release five years ago. The movie got a Certified Fresh 80% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes. This included a 7 out of 10-star review from ScreenRant‘s Molly Freeman, who praised the film’s action sequences and compelling storyline.
