English striker Liam Delap has sent a message to the Chelsea fans following his transfer from Ipswich Town.

The 22-year-old had a productive Premier League season with the Tractor Boys with 12 goals from 37 games.

He was the subject of interest from several English clubs, but eventually chose to join the Blues for £30 million.

Delap was unveiled to the fans earlier today, and he is looking forward to winning trophies with the London giants.

He told the club’s official website: “I wanted to come here to win trophies. When I spoke to the club, everyone wanted to get back to the very top, and they have the quality and the players to do that.”

Delap is due to report with the England for the Euro Under 21s, but could be asked to withdraw from the tournament.

Chelsea reportedly want him in the squad for the upcoming Club World Cup being held in the United States of America.
