Fans react as Rajasthan Royals ends IPL 2025 campaign with dominant 6-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings

In a high-scoring clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, Rajasthan Royals wrapped up their IPL 2025 season with a clinical 6-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. Chasing 188, RR rode on the explosive efforts of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and a late blitz by Dhruv Jurel to overhaul the target with 17 balls to spare. Despite Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis’ efforts in CSK’s innings, RR’s all-round efficiency prevailed, handing CSK their 10th defeat and ensuring both teams ended their season at the bottom half of the table.

CSK’s power-packed start undone by mid-innings collapse

Chennai, put in to bat, had an electric start as debutant Mhatre dazzled with a 20-ball 43, striking 8 fours and a six. However, after his dismissal at 68/3 in the 6th over, CSK’s innings lost momentum. Yudhvir Singh’s crucial strikes, including the scalps of Urvil Patel, Conway and Ravindra Jadeja, dented CSK’s top-order. Brevis (42 off 25) and Shivam Dube (39 off 32) steadied the ship with a 59-run stand for the sixth wicket, but the death overs failed to produce a final flourish. Akash Madhwal’s 3/29 and Tushar Deshpande’s control ensured CSK ended with 187/8, a total that looked challenging but slightly below par given the flat pitch and short boundaries.

RR’s young guns finish in style after a solid top-order base

Rajasthan began their chase strongly with Yashasvi Jaiswal hammering 36 off 19. His early fireworks were followed by a match-defining 98-run stand between Suryavanshi (57 off 33) and Sanju Samson (41 off 31), who kept the asking rate in check. Even after a minor stumble with three wickets falling in quick succession, Jurel’s fearless 12-ball 31, including 3 sixes, ended the chase with a flourish. Despite Ravichandran Ashwin’s two wickets and a tidy spell from Anshul Kamboj, CSK’s bowling lacked bite. RR chased down 188 in 17.1 overs, finishing their season on a high and handing CSK yet another blow in a disappointing campaign.
