Commander Wharton was introduced in season 6 as the new High Commander of Gilead, with him acting as a replacement for Fred Waterford within the show. Although he stayed in the background for the first few episodes, The Handmaid’s Tale has established him as a massive threat, showing just how dangerous he is.
