This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

New hardware is another chance for ongoing live-service games to reach a new audience, and Diablo 4‘s developers are keeping an open mind when it comes to the Nintendo Switch 2. Diablo 4 has been steadily releasing new seasonal content and expansions since its launch in 2023, and senior vice president and general manager of the Diablo franchise at Blizzard Rod Fergusson has alluded to D4 potentially getting a Switch 2 port after the console’s release on June 5.

In an interview with Danny Peña on YouTube (via VGC), Fergusson said, when asked about Diablo on the Switch 2, “I think there’s opportunity there for sure.” He went on to say that technically, there’s nothing holding the Switch 2 back in terms of hardware from running Diablo 4: “I think the challenge is less around the hardware and just about how we… you know, live services on Switch have been a little bit challenging in the past.” Fergusson also made sure to note that Diablo 3 and Diablo 2: Resurrected both received Switch ports, which will be playable on the Switch 2 via backward compatibility.
