Line-ups revealed as both sides look for huge win in race for Champions League

The Premier League’s fifth and seventh-placed clubs meet each other at the Etihad as Manchester City face Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s side took a big step towards securing Champions League football at the weekend, beating Everton at Goodison Park.

But Unai Emery’s men are in hot pursuit, dismantling Newcastle and moving just one point back from the champions.

A win on the road would be a huge statement of intent for the Midlands side, who recently exited the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

Read on how both teams line-up.

Manchester City line-up

It’s a tampered-with XI from Guardiola.

Stefan Ortega is in goal, behind a back four of Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and Nico O’Reilly.

In midfield a pairing of Ilkay Gundogan and Mateo Kovacic.

Then comes a three of James McAtee, Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

Omar Marmoush leads the line.

Aston Villa line-up

Emery has gone with a strong showing.

Emiliano Martinez is in goal, then comes a defence of Lucas Digne, Pau Torres, Ezri Konsa and Matty Cash.

Villa have matched the pivot with Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana.

Jacob Ramsey, Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers are the three in front.

And Marcus Rashford is the lone striker.
