Warning: SPOILERS for Found season 2, episode 19, “Missing While a Casualty.”
Found season 2 began by upping the ante on just how much of a threat Sir poses to M&A, but there’s a chance he’s now set up to become a true ally. Found season 2 makes a lot of strides in proving how unique the show is when compared to even the best TV procedurals. Rather than interspersing snippets of larger storylines with traditional case-of-the-week episodes, Found never goes a full hour without continuing to build out its overarching plot. Sir’s character arc in season 2 has particularly exemplified that.
After beginning Found season 2 with Sir threatening M&A before building to the reveal that Sir’s been working with an accomplice, there have been multiple reveals that could very well carry over into the story for Found season 3. Sir doesn’t seem to have given up on his plans for Gabi since being locked up in prison, which suggests that he’s always had some kind of plan to get out. As of Found season 2, episode 19, that plan appears to be gaining shape in a rather unexpected way.
Found Season 2, Episode 19 Ends With Sir Working For The FBI
It’s Not Yet Clear How He Made Himself Useful To The Bureau
Found season 2, episode 19 spends a lot of time on the search for Jamie’s kidnapper, Cassie, but there’s also an ongoing manhunt for Danielle Savre’s Lena Evans, Sir’s sister and recently revealed accomplice. Although Hugh Evans is absent from most of the episode, it’s revealed at the end that Sir has somehow made himself useful to the FBI. As of now, the details of this alliance remain unclear. Mallory refused to reveal any details to Gabi or Trent, saying that Sir’s current whereabouts could only be revealed on a need-to-know basis.

Found season 2’s increasingly convoluted Sir storyline is taking screen time away from what the show and Mosely & Associates usually do best.
However, Trent’s presence for this conversation with Mallory might contain a hint as to Sir’s current assignment. Heavy Boots isn’t allowed to know any details about Lena’s manhunt because of his prior relationship with her. It also makes sense for Hugh to help find his sister, since Sir and accomplice Lena have spent much of Found season 2 in disagreement on whether to let Gabi live. While Sir appeared to have been tapped for the FBI against his will at first, he’d naturally agree if it meant keeping Gabi safe. After all, Sir’s redemption in Found has already been happening.
How Found Season 2 Has Been Gradually Redeeming Sir
Gabi Might Not Even Be Alive Right Now Without Him
Sir is definitely a villain, but he’s never actually posed a physical threat to Gabi. Most near deaths at his hand have largely been accidental with the possible exception of Zeke, and Christian’s death on Found has now been linked to his sister Lena. But aside from not posing much of a physical threat (albeit a massive psychological one), Sir has actually saved Gabi’s life multiple times throughout the season. He most recently saved her from rioting prisoners, but he also saved her from his own accomplice in an earlier episode.

Sir has spent so long disagreeing with Lena on whether to kill Gabi that it’s even possible his plan to smuggle Gabi into Europe might’ve been partly to keep her safe. But he’s also starting to redeem himself with Gabi’s team, despite presumably caring far less about them. Sir kept Gabi out of prison, but he could have thrown Dhan under the bus since Dhan was never even charged for his role in Sir’s kidnapping. Sir also played a pivotal role in helping Margaret determine Jamie’s kidnapper. Even if he has ulterior motives, he’s starting to do some real good.
Why Sir Becoming Gabi’s Ally Would Make A Potential Found Season 3 Even Better
Found Would Benefit From Pivoting To A New Villain
NBC has suggested a possible Found season 3 renewal. If it does get greenlit, it would be refreshing to see Sir’s role change while M&A focuses on a new threat. Whether that new villain happens to be Lena or somebody else, making Sir an ally of M&A would bring a fresh perspective to Found. Plenty of characters on M&A’s team have already committed major crimes. While Sir seems much more monstrous and untrustworthy, that’s exactly why watching him redeem himself slowly throughout a season would be so thrilling.

Beginning that character arc in Found season 2 would also prove beneficial. Despite NBC’s cautious optimism, Found is still one of the TV series facing cancelation right now. Giving the show a new hook could revitalize NBC’s interest twofold and give them additional motivation to bring it back for another run. It will take time for Sir to fully earn his redemption after everything he’s done, and some might feel he never deserves to get there. Nonetheless, it would make for an interesting journey no matter what the destination.
