Adam Scott and Rashida Jones were both included on Time’s list of the 100 most influential people of 2025, and received tributes from their Parks and Recreation co-stars. Parks and Recreation is a sitcom that aired from 2009 to 2015 on NBC, and followed an ensemble of government employees who try to improve the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. While Scott joined the show late and Jones left the series before its ending, their characters, Ben Wyatt and Ann Perkins, were two of the best characters on Parks and Recreation.

A decade after the sitcom concluded its run, both Scott and Jones have been named as two of the 100 most influential people of 2025. Every year, Time lists the 100 most influential people in the world, who get honored by their peers with thoughtful tributes. In this year’s list, Scott’s tribute in Time was written by Nick Offerman, who played Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation. Adam has been the cause of swooning for a long time, and not just by me. From his breast-obsessed portrayal of Howard Hughes’ publicist Johnny Meyer in Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator to his breakout turn as an unbearably “rad” asswipe in Step Brothers, Adam has displayed a knack for portraying fellows who are a little off, but in a comforting way—relatably weird.

When given top billing, Adam crafts protagonists who have so many more fascinating colors in their palettes than just his dreamboat looks. Scott & Jones Are Both Great In Parks And Recreation

Outside of Parks and Recreation, Scott has starred in numerous amazing movies and TV shows. As mentioned by Offerman, he can effortlessly go from starring in a serious biopic like The Aviator to a ridiculous comedy film like Step Brothers. More recently, Scott has played the main character in Severance, one of the best shows of the last few years. Meanwhile, Jones has also had an incredibly successful career. She has starred in movies like The Social Network and Celeste and Jesse Forever, as well as recent shows like Silo and Black Mirror.

While all the aforementioned movies and shows are amazing, a lot of people still recognize Scott and Jones the most from Parks and Recreation, which is why it is great that Offerman and Poehler honored them. Scott joined the show at the end of the second season of Parks and Recreation, and instantly made it much more enjoyable. His character actually ended up marrying Poehler’s Leslie Knope in the fifth season. Jones was one of the main characters from the beginning of the sitcom, when Ann Perkins quickly became friends with Leslie, which blossomed over the course of the series.

While Scott and Jones are arguably best-known as comedic performers, they have both proven that they can excel in various different genres. Therefore, it is amazing that they were both named on the list of Time’s 100 most influential people of 2025, which presented the perfect opportunity for a Parks and Recreation lovefest.
