Eriksen wanted by Brentford boss

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has opened the door to reuniting with Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen this summer.

Eriksen previously had a short-term stint with the Bees in the Premier League before joining United on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

The Dane is expected to leave the Red Devils when his contract expires on June 30 and Frank is open to the possibility of re-signing him on a Bosman deal.

He said: “Christian is a very good player, and we are always open to very good players to join us.

“What he will do in the future, I don’t know. What we will do in the future, I don’t know. Let’s see.”

Eriksen recently admitted that he is eyeing a new challenge away from United but ruled out the possibility of continuing in England.

After such comments, it would be a surprise if he were to rejoin the Bees.

Eriksen is more likelier to end up with Ajax in the Eredivisie. He was linked with a reunion with the Dutch giants at the start of the season.

Ajax are expected to make a fresh approach and should be confident of signing him. He could be tempted to play in the Champions League again.
