Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has a clear stance amid Chelsea’s interest in signing him during the winter transfer window.
The Netherlands international is currently nursing a knee injury, but he is widely expected to make his return before the New Year.
Still, the Dutchman may struggle for regular starts in the number six role, given that Barcelona have signed Rodri to fill the void.
Rodri is undoubtedly one of the best defensive midfielders in world football and De Jong may struggle to displace him on his return.
Despite this, the former Ajax man has no desire to pursue a new challenge away from Barcelona in either January or next summer.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso would like to work with the experienced ace, but De Jong does not see himself moving to England in the near future.
He has previously turned down an offer from Manchester United and continues to remain focused on staying put with the Blaugrana.
