Taylor Sheridan‘s action thriller series is once again at the place where it has made a home so many times: the top of its streaming service’s chart. Sheridan’s most popular TV shows largely come from the Yellowstone franchise or other Western series, but the creator has shown several times, and even in those shows, that he understands action quite a bit. Taking a look at the movies Sheridan has written or directed will help make that clear, with the creator behind action classics like the Sicario franchise, Michael B. Jordan’s adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, and many more.

Lioness Reclaims The #1 Spot On Paramount+

At the time of writing, Lioness stands as Paramount+’s new most-watched TV show in the United States, as per FlixPatrol. While the action thriller series has occupied that spot in the past, this new rise to the streamer’s #1 position domestically comes at the perfect time after a new release. After all, Lioness season 3 aired its last episode on Sunday, September 20, which means that it has now overtaken the long-running animated hit series South Park on Paramount+ nearly a full week after its latest episode was released. Given how South Park, now retitled as South America, is still airing new episodes, that is a huge feat.

Lioness now ranks above several major projects on Paramount+’s Top 10 TV Shows chart in the United States. That said, at the moment, it is surprisingly the only Sheridan series to appear on the chart. Boosted by season 3’s recent finale, Saldaña’s Lioness has taken over a streaming list that includes the Tom Hardy and Guy Ritchie crime thriller MobLand, the beloved police procedural Criminal Minds, the iconic animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, the sci-fi franchise entry Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and more. According to FlixPatrol, Lioness is also Paramount+’s 2nd most-watched TV show worldwide, only behind Hardy’s MobLand.

Will Lioness Return For Season 4?

Lioness has yet to be renewed for season 4. The action thriller series, which has all of its episodes written by Sheridan, was last renewed for season 3 in October 2025. That marked exactly one year since the debut of Lioness season 2, which means that it might take some time before Paramount+ subscribers learn about the fate of the show. However, as can be seen by Lioness retaking the #1 spot on the streaming service in the United States, the show is quite popular, and with stars like Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, and more, Lioness season 4 is likely to happen.
