All 3 Marvel TV Shows Releasing On Disney+ In October 2026

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting bigger in October, as a new live-action MCU series comes to Disney+, with two exciting shows focused on some of Marvel’s biggest heroes also releasing new episodes on the streaming service next month. September’s Disney+ arrivals were very good for Marvel fans, mixing movies from different universes and even featuring the inclusion of a show.

Those were made up of four Marvel releases connected to Spider-Man in some form. Two of them were Tom Holland Spider-Man movies set in the MCU, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. The other two releases were Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, and the animated Marvel’s Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!

September is also a big month for the MCU in theaters, not just Disney+, as Marvel Studios saw the release of Avengers: Endgame Encore, with multiple new Avengers: Doomsday teases. Avengers: Endgame was also given a new ending. Now, the attention turns to October’s new arrivals on Disney+. This time around, the month is light when it comes to Marvel movies on the streamer.

Iron Man (2008) is, in retrospect, the most consequential casting decision in modern blockbuster history — but at the time Marvel Studios and parent company Paramount were openly hostile to director Jon Favreau’s push for the lead actor he eventually got. Favreau later said he had to fight “tooth and nail” and the actor had to do a paid screen test, a screen-test deal almost unheard of for an A-lister. What was the executive objection to him?

02

The Avengers (2012) — the film that proved the shared-universe model could work, grossed $1.52 billion, and ended Phase One with Loki, Thanos’s mid-credits reveal, and the “swarm shot” of the team rotating in Manhattan — was written and directed by a TV showrunner best known at the time for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly. Name him.

03

Marvel co-architect Stan Lee (1922–2018) appeared in every theatrical MCU film from Iron Man (2008) onward, even shooting cameos in advance to outlast him. He died on November 12, 2018. In which film does his final filmed MCU cameo appear — as the long-haired young driver of a 1970 car bearing the bumper sticker “NUFF SAID”?

04

Across Phase One through Three, each Infinity Stone is hidden inside a distinctive container before being claimed for Thanos’s Gauntlet. The blue Space Stone is housed inside a glowing cube that originates with the Asgardians, is recovered by Howard Stark from the wreckage of the Red Skull’s plane, is taken to Asgard by Loki in 2012, and is finally retrieved by Hulk on Sakaar before falling to Thanos. What is that container called?

05

In Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the Soul Stone is hidden on Vormir and guarded by a Stonekeeper — revealed to be a cursed Red Skull. To claim it, the seeker must sacrifice the person they love most by throwing them from a cliff. Thanos arrives on Vormir with one adopted daughter, weeps, and pushes her over the edge. Which character does Thanos sacrifice to obtain the Soul Stone?

06

In Avengers: Endgame (2019), Steve Rogers travels back in time to return the Infinity Stones, then chooses to remain in the past and live out a life with Peggy Carter. He returns to the present as an old man, sits on a bench by the lake at the Avengers compound, and hands his vibranium shield to a younger Avenger as the symbolic transfer of the Captain America identity. To whom does Steve give the shield?

07

After Endgame, Marvel Studios’ Phase Four launched the MCU on Disney+ with a sitcom-pastiche limited series in which Wanda Maximoff and a resurrected Vision live inside a reality-warping suburban hex. Each episode parodied a different era of US TV sitcom — The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, Family Ties, Modern Family. The show premiered January 15, 2021 and ran nine episodes. Which series was it — the first MCU project on Disney+?

08

At the closing panel of San Diego Comic-Con on July 27, 2024, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige brought the Russo brothers back on stage to announce a new title for the next Avengers film — previously labelled “The Kang Dynasty” before Jonathan Majors’s December 2023 conviction forced a pivot — and then unmasked a cast of actors wearing green hoods. The final hood came off Robert Downey Jr. RDJ is returning to the MCU, but not as Tony Stark. As whom?

A worthy Avenger — or dusted in the snap?

There are no new releases in the film department, with the focus resting solely on MCU TV shows and animated series that exist outside the shared universe’s canon. That said, Disney+ subscribers will be able to watch the final chapter of a trilogy that started in 2021, as well as catch two of the biggest Marvel heroes in new animated adventures. These are the three Marvel TV shows coming to Disney+ in October 2026:

3

VisionQuest – October 14

First up is VisionQuest, the only new live-action MCU series currently announced for the franchise’s slate of projects. That is only one of the factors why there is so much anticipation for VisionQuest. The main driving force behind interest in the show is how VisionQuest is the final chapter in the WandaVision trilogy, bringing back Paul Bettany’s White Vision after that beloved MCU series and the events of 2024’s Agatha All Along.

The latter set the stage for Ruaridh Mollica to appear as one of Wanda and Vision’s sons, Tommy Maximoff, in VisionQuest, as his spirit found a new body. VisionQuest also marks the MCU return of James Spader as Ultron for the first time since the Marvel villain was seemingly killed in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The mind-bending new Disney+ sci-fi series will follow Vision as he wrestles with his memories, having several MCU AIs, like Ultron and J.A.R.V.I.S., living in his head.

Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends – October 28

VisionQuest is the only MCU and live-action Marvel show coming to Disney+ in October, with the next entry being the animated Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends, which will release new episodes on the streaming service next month. Instead of being solely focused on Tony Stark, the preschool animated series brings along a lead trio: Tony Stark/Iron Man, Riri Williams/Ironheart, and Amadeus Cho/Iron Hulk.

Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends is a show geared towards younger Marvel fans. This is not a Marvel series that adults will enjoy watching alone, but comes as the perfect offering for families to watch together as new viewers are introduced to Marvel’s exciting roster of heroes and villains from a young age. Marvel characters like Vision, Black Panther, Thor, Ultron, Loki, and many more also appear.

Finally, the last of the three Marvel TV shows coming to Disney+ in October connects to Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends, as that project was a spinoff of the returning Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends. After debuting on July 13, the animated Spider-Man series that spawned a shared universe will return with new season 5 episodes next month.

This comes after September’s Marvel’s Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!, a special that not only came in time for spooky season, but also helped set up the upcoming Avengers: Mightiest Friends, the preschool animated Avengers series that will be released in 2027. Like the Iron Man show, Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends has three leads: Peter Parker/Spidey, Miles Morales/Spin, and Gwen Stacy/Ghost-Spider. The three Marvel TV shows releasing on Disney+ in October offer a wide range of adventures for subscribers.
