At the time of writing, The Amateur is the 7th most-watched movie on Prime Video in the United States. Bernthal’s R-rated thriller with an incredible cast just went up a position on the coveted chart, holding onto Prime Video’s Top 10 Movies list in the US, as it has trended on the streaming service for 57 days, almost two full months. The Amateur leaves behind three movies filled with stars on the Prime Video domestic chart. Those include Gal Gadot’s action thriller The Runner, Keanu Reeves’ supernatural comedy Good Fortune, and the 2026 fantasy epic Masters of the Universe.

As The Amateur climbs higher on Prime Video’s US chart, the streaming service has just seen a new film take over the top spot. The new Prime Video original movie, The Love Hypothesis, is officially the most-watched movie on Prime Video in the United States. It has become an instant streaming sensation, having debuted on Wednesday, September 23. In The Amateur, Bernthal plays Jackson O’Brien, known for his codename The Bear, a CIA field operative who is friends with Rami Malek’s Charlie Heller, the analyst who goes through an intensive training to get revenge for the death of his wife.

The Amateur rising on Prime Video is a development that continues Bernthal’s successful year on streaming.
