Arsenal star Declan Rice has withdrawn from the England squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches, with Manchester United pair Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo and Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento also joining Chelsea’s Cole Palmer pulling out through injury.

Palmer’s withdrawal was reported earlier on Monday, and the Football Association confirmed he will be replaced in the squad by Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White.

Everton midfielder James Garner will also come into the group for England’s four Nations League matches in an elongated international break.

Midfielder Rice played the full game on Saturday as Arsenal suffered their first loss of the new season, a 3-0 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion.

However, England are said to be managing his minutes after he played 69 games for club and country over the course of last season and this summer’s World Cup.

Rashford and Mainoo came off late in United’s 1-1 draw at Fulham and are being assessed by their club.

Newcastle full-back Livramento has consistently struggled with injuries in recent times, with a hamstring problem preventing him from featuring at the World Cup after he was selected for the tournament in North America.

Having recovered from that issue, Livramento missed Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Hull City on Saturday through his latest setback, the nature of which has not been confirmed.

England face Spain at Wembley on Saturday before two games with Czechia, which take place either side of a trip to Croatia.
