To give you a sense of what you can expect to find on the RetailMeNot Rewards app, here’s a breakdown of the key features currently available and how they’ll make your shopping experience easier (and more rewarding):
- Working Code Promise: Exclusive to the RetailMeNot Rewards app, this is as simple as it sounds. All promo codes featured within the app have been verified. This means rather than spending hours trying different promo codes at checkout, only to be met with a “code invalid” message, you can click the code in the app and know that the savings you see are the savings you’ll get.*
- Guaranteed Savings: Speaking of savings, you are guaranteed to save on the RetailMeNot Rewards app every time you shop. More than 3,500 merchants on the app feature a cash back offer of at least 1%.
- Monthly Bonus: This app-exclusive loyalty program allows you to earn up to $50 every month! All you have to do is make two qualifying purchases of at least $25 to earn $5, which can be repeated. Every month, your progress resets.
- Scout Price (Beta): This tool, featuring RetailMeNot’s proprietary pricing technology, helps you get the full savings picture on a wide variety of products. It does the math for you, breaking down not only which retailers are offering the best price, but what you will actually pay after factoring in cash back and applicable coupon codes.
Working Code Promise
Spend a little time in the RetailMeNot Rewards app, visiting your favorite retailers’ pages and filling up carts, and you’ll quickly understand the “promise” behind the Working Code Promise.
Today at GAP, for example, there is a code available for an extra 10% off. When I apply this code to the cart I made, it works. When you’re using the RetailMeNot Rewards app, you don’t have to hesitate or second guess if a code will actually work at checkout.
Does the RetailMeNot Rewards app Working Code Promise mean that I will always have a promo code to use at checkout?
No, the RetailMeNot Rewards app Working Code Promise does not mean that you will always have a coupon or promo code available to use at every retailer featured within the app. The promise is that when a code is featured in the RetailMeNot Rewards app, it will work on applicable purchases.
For example, if the GAP code mentioned above was specifically for sale items and I was buying something full price, the code would not be valid. A brand’s own terms and conditions for their codes still apply. When it is applicable to your purchase, the code shown in the app will work.
Guaranteed Savings
Guaranteed savings might sound too good to be true, but it’s legit. More than 3,500 retailers featured in the RetailMeNot Rewards app have a guaranteed cash back offer of at least 1%! This means, whether you’re buying a designer bag from Nordstrom, ordering sushi via UberEats, or purchasing your toothpaste from CVS, you’ll walk (or scroll) away with savings.
What is cash back?
The way cash back works is that after you make a purchase (after following a link from the RetailMeNot Rewards app), you will receive a % back from that total in cash. In about 45 days, your cash back will appear in your RetailMeNot digital wallet. You can then redeem it and send the money to your Venmo or PayPal account.
If you spent $50 and had 5% cash back, after receiving your cash back payout, the amount you paid in total is $47.50.
Are cash back offers the same in the RetailMeNot Rewards app as they are online?
No, cash back offers in the RetailMeNot Rewards app are not the same as they are online. At select retailers and during specific periods, RetailMeNot Rewards members can earn more cash back by shopping through the app.
RetailMeNot Rewards Monthly Bonus
Wouldn’t you love to have an extra $50 every month to keep your coffee shop fund in flush? We’ve got you. After making two qualifying purchases of at least $25 two times in a month (when shopping via the RetailMeNot Rewards app), you’ll earn $5. You can earn up to $50 in total over the course of the month. Each month the count towards this bonus resets.
To know which purchases qualify for contribution towards the monthly bonus, look for the blue diamond symbol at your selected retailer in the app (symbol pictured below).
Does the RetailMeNot Rewards Monthly Bonus reset based on my sign-up date or the calendar month?
The RetailMeNot Rewards app Monthly Bonus resets based on the calendar month. So if you download the app on September 23, you’ll have one week to earn your monthly bonus. Then, in October, a fresh month will start, and you have the chance to earn a $50 bonus again.
Smart Search
Online shopping today is incredibly overwhelming, and Smart Search is here to make things a little easier on you. Shopping for a TV and curious to see which retailers have the best cash back offers? Type “best cash back on TVs” into Smart Search. Looking to see which retailers are hosting mattress sales? Type “mattress” into Smart Search. This tool is still in development, but it already functions as an extra helpful directory to help you find what you’re looking for in the app, especially if you’re not sure which retailer you want to turn to.
Scout Price (Beta)
This feature is in beta mode, but you would never guess it based on what you’ll see in the app. Scout Price helps to alleviate that mind-boggling experience of comparing prices on a specific product at various retailers, while also trying to factor in coupon codes and cash back offers. All the math is broken down for you.

In the case of this Ulta candle, it is exclusive to Ulta so no comparison is necessary. But how great is it to see the actual price you’ll pay at checkout after stacking savings, factoring in sales and cash back? It really helps you get a sense of what will fit your budget, so you don’t have your heart set on something in your cart only to find out it won’t be a feasible fit.
Breville – the Barista Express Impress Espresso Machine – Brushed Stainless Steel
Meanwhile, with the Breville Barista Espresso Machine, you can see what the final price will be at Macy’s, Target, and Bloomingdale’s — and the fact that these three retailers are currently offering the best price on this product has already been factored in.
In this situation, Macy’s and Bloomingdales’ have the same lowest final price. To decide between the two, you can factor in your own needs. Are you a rewards member at either retailer? Do you have a gift card to use? Do you want to pick-up in-store and one is more convenient? Those personal decisions are left for you to make, but you are able to make them with the knowledge that you are getting the best price already.
*Working Code Promise: Note that a merchant can change codes on their end, resulting in a 24-hour period where a code is no longer eligible for use but still temporarily appears in the app. In addition, some codes are sourced by our community, but those are clearly labeled to showcase they have not gone through the RetailMeNot team.
