A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Is Officially Switching Genres Winter 2026

As the most recent Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms took the world by storm when it aired for the first time back in January 2026, leading to a second season being greenlit immediately. Now with the second season having wrapped up filming, we can expect the show, whose events are set a century before the events of Game of Thrones, to return to our screens in early 2027.

Telling the story of two unlikely heroes, Duncan the Tall and Egg, secretly none other than Aegon Targaryen, the show, based off George R. R. Martin’s novella “The Hedge Knight,” received positive reviews from critics and the audience alike, even going on to receive nine nominations at the 2026 Emmy Awards.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Returns This Winter

However, with the hiatus currently being something of a pain for fans, it seems as though there is something to look forward to ahead of the launch of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season two.

Courtesy of Rittenhouse Archives, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to receive a trading card set which launches this Winter. As the new pack has only just been announced, details remain scarce, but with Rittenhouse Archives previously being the brains behind a Game of Thrones-inspired trading card set, it is safe to say that this upcoming release is in safe hands.

What we do know, is that the cards will feature stunning and unique art, based around some of the show’s most iconic characters. Not only that, but the cards will be signed by the actors themselves, making them incredible collectibles even if you do not wish to utilize the game element.

Whilst Rittenhouse has not revealed a price, content list, or exact release date, we can gain some information by looking at some of its previous packs inspired by the works of George R.R. Martin.

What Can Players Expect

By looking at the company’s House of the Dragon Season 1 trading card set, we can safely assume that the base game will feature around 50 cards, which launch alongside autograph cards, costume relics, foil versions, character galleries, artist renditions, episode posters, relationship cards, location cards, hand-drawn sketches, and more.

In the House of the Dragon set, the autograph cards feature scribbles from some of the show’s biggest names: Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine, and Olivia Cooke, but in the Season 2 set, which is set to launch on 30 September, customers will also receive autographs from the likes of Clinton Liberty, Kieran Bew, Phoebe Campbell, and Elliott Tittensor.

So, it is safe to assume that the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms trading card game will be signed by Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell at the least, and maybe even Daniel Ings, Bertie Carvel, and many more.

However, until the full content list is revealed, we can only guess. Nevertheless, this is an exciting upcoming release for fans of House of the Dragon, so we will keep you updated on any updates as they come.
