Game Of Thrones Is Officially Bringing Back Arya Stark In 2027

Game of Thrones may have ended back in 2019, but its legacy continues to live on through a plethora of phenomenal spin-offs. Through mobile games to full-blown series and more, Game of Thrones’ prominence in the cultural zeitgeist never wanes, its popularity as an IP continuing to draw in millions of fans, old and new. It’s no surprise, then, that there are several new Game of Thrones projects in the works, several of which see beloved characters return in glorious fashion.

Among all the new Game of Thrones projects stands one that feels like a perfect fit, a title that frankly reveals just how astounding it is that something like it hasn’t already been made. Fans will almost certainly adore this brand-new Game of Thrones release, especially considering that it sees the legendary Arya Stark return. The beloved character plays a fairly prominent role in this new GoT project, so fans of hers can look forward to seeing even more of her when it launches in 2027.

Thus far, Game of Thrones fans have only really had mobile games to turn to when they want to further immerse themselves in the world of Westeros and beyond, at least outside of the TV shows. That’s a genuine shame, as while the mobile games on offer aren’t terrible by any means and have already garnered a positive reception from fans, they fail to live up to the potential that Game of Thrones gives a full-blown video game experience.

Fortunately, the upcoming War for Westeros game looks set to fix that, offering an impressive strategy experience that sees players command some of Game of Thrones’ most iconic factions in an attempt to truly unite the Seven Kingdoms. It is, as aforementioned, rather surprising that we haven’t had a proper strategy game set within Game of Thrones’ universe already, especially considering the original novels and show are heavily focused on diplomacy and war, two concepts synonymous with the strategy genre.

War for Westeros’ glowing previews have already painted a picture of a faithful adaptation with plenty of promise, but its latest reveal is what has gotten fans truly talking. In a series of videos posted to the official War for Westeros YouTube channel, developer PlaySide Studios has showcased a handful of playable heroes available in the game. Chief among them is, of course, Arya Stark, who joins the Starks as a formidable champion capable of disguising herself as other units.

Her specific reveal trailer also showcased Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane, another unlockable hero who fans of Arya will surely enjoy taking down. Both characters look suitably like their TV show portrayals and adopt their various traits, at least as far as is necessary for a strategy game. It’s exciting to see Arya in Game of Thrones: War for Westeros and see her ability to change faces represented and utilized so well. It won’t be long to wait until fans can finally use her in battle, as this incredible new Game of Thrones project is set to release in early 2027.
