The second season of Prime Video’s original action thriller, which is a little bit Sicario and a little bit Jason Bourne, is set to premiere on October 21, 2026. Prime Video has been putting out some excellent original shows in the last couple of months, and its fall slate appears to be just as strong.

Prime has dabbled in a range of dramas, never seeming to hew to one in the same way that Apple TV has shown a proclivity for producing sci-fi TV shows and Netflix has a plethora of historical dramas and fantasies. However, there are a notable number of action-packed original series on the platform.

One such series, The Terminal List, returns for season 2 on October 21, 2026, with all eight episodes of the show premiering together. The series stars Christ Pratt as Lieutenant Commander James Reece, a US Navy SEAL who, in season 1, is ambushed on a covert mission and returns home with some holes in his memory.

Over the course of the season, Reece comes to realize that there are sinister forces working against him, and he must race against time to figure out just what he’s made himself a part of. The series is based on Jack Carr’s 2018 novel of the same name, and season 2 will adapt the second book in his series, True Believer.

While season 1 was a revenge story, season 2 will offer Reece the chance of redemption as he finds a new purpose post-finishing his terminal list. His journey will take him on an adventure across the globe as he uncovers an even wider-ranging conspiracy that has surprising ties to his family.

The Terminal List Season 2 Should Be An Improvement On The First

The first season of The Terminal List received some poor reviews, earning a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Terminal List does have some big struggles when it comes to the tone of the series. It’s unrelentingly grim and violent, but lacks the drama or psychological cleverness that may make it more acceptable.

The Terminal List season 2 has some things going for it. For one, showrunner David DiGilio and Pratt are both returning. The pair are likely more comfortable with one another a second time around, and that generally spells good things for a TV series. Pratt was one of the best parts of season 1, so his involvement with season 2 is a good sign.

The success of the prequel series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which premiered in 2025, three years after The Terminal List, is also a good sign. Dark Wolf was a much stronger season of the franchise, and DiGilio was also the showrunner for that series. He should be bringing what he learned in that show into the next season of The Terminal List.

Status Of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf Season 2

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a prequel series that stars Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, a character from the original series. In it, we learn what happened to Edwards that resulted in him becoming the character we meet in The Terminal List. While Dark Wolf ends close to the beginning of The Terminal List, there could be other prequel stories to explore.

There has been little talk about The Terminal List: Dark Wolf season 2, perhaps because Amazon is trying to keep the focus on the return of the original show. Still, as a spinoff that reignited interest in the franchise, there should be some information regarding another season of Dark Wolf arriving sometime soon.
