Manchester United target Lewis Hall is set to sign a new long-term contract at Newcastle United, according to The Athletic.
The England international was the Red Devils’ top target for the left-back position this summer, but the Magpies were reluctant to sell him.
Hall was also happy to stay under new manager Matthias Jaissle, and he has now been impressed by the German’s influence.
The Chelsea graduate has decided to pen a fresh five-year contract with the Magpies, which could represent a blow for United.
United have plans to return for the youngster next summer, but the contract renewal could make it difficult to prise him away.
Hall was already valued at around £60m by the Tyneside outfit and his valuation could become steeper with a renewal.
United may have to look elsewhere to bolster the left wing department in either January or at the end of the ongoing season.
Club Brugge’s side Joaquin Seys is reportedly among the targets.
