2 Spider-Man Releases Are Now On Disney+ (& A Third Is Coming Soon)

Spider-Man has returned to Disney+ with two major releases that arrive at the perfect time for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, and there is a third live-action one on the way. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is ruling theaters everywhere, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, and it is not showing any signs of slowing down.

Throughout his time as the character, Holland has starred in some of the best movies in the MCU. At times, that has come in the form of Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man franchise, while Holland has also played Peter in a couple of Avengers movies, with likely at least one or two more coming soon. Spider-Man’s popularity on the big screen is well known.

That said, the hero is also a major streaming sensation. That does not even have to be connected to Holland’s portrayal, as the animated Spidey and his Amazing Friends is the most-watched Marvel series on Disney+, entering 2025’s Billion Hours Streamed Club. That show will return with a special Avengers episode on the streaming service on September 25 — Marvel’s Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!

Before getting his own solo film, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut by being recruited by Tony Stark to help in a massive superhero conflict. In which MCU film did Holland first appear as Spider-Man?

02

In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter faces a blue-collar salvage contractor who turned to arms dealing after being shut out of the Chitauri cleanup by Damage Control. Using an alien-tech wingsuit, he becomes one of Spider-Man’s most grounded villains. Who is he?

03

Tony Stark built Peter a high-tech suit loaded with features Peter didn’t even know about, including an AI assistant that helps him in combat, provides tactical analysis, and even gives dating advice. What name does Peter give this AI?

04

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter encounters a seemingly heroic figure who claims to be from an alternate Earth, battling elemental creatures across Europe. In reality, he’s a disgruntled former Stark Industries employee using advanced holographic drones. What is his real name?

05

In one of the MCU’s most shocking mid-credits scenes, J. Jonah Jameson broadcasts doctored footage from Mysterio’s final moments that completely upends Peter Parker’s life. What does this broadcast reveal to the entire world?

06

With his identity exposed and his loved ones under threat, Peter seeks help from a powerful sorcerer to cast a spell that would make the world forget he is Spider-Man. Peter’s constant modifications to the spell cause it to fracture the multiverse. Which sorcerer casts this spell?

07

Throughout all three films, Peter’s loyal best friend serves as his “guy in the chair,” helping with tech support and keeping his secret. In No Way Home, this character even discovers he can open magical portals using a Sling Ring. Who is Peter’s best friend?

08

At the emotional climax of No Way Home, Peter makes an enormous personal sacrifice to save the multiverse. Doctor Strange completes the spell, and when it takes effect, Peter is left completely alone. What does the final spell do?

That said, I know most fans are interested in the live-action Spider-Man projects coming to Disney+ in September. While Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s streaming release date has yet to be revealed, and it will go to Netflix first before Disney+ due to an existing Sony deal, two MCU Spider-Man movies have now arrived on Disney+, and a live-action villain film is on the way.

Both Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home swung onto Disney+ this Friday, September 4. The former saw Holland’s Peter Parker face Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio, culminating in a shocking ending that changed the game for Peter Parker in the MCU.

As for the latter, it was the Spider-Man event of the fans’ dreams, seeing the crossover of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Holland’s versions of Spider-Man. The three Marvel heroes had impeccable chemistry, and seeing their characters fight villains from past Spider-Man movies, like Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, was a blast.

Disney+ Will Soon Add Kraven The Hunter

The live-action Spider-Man releases will keep coming this month. On September 13, Kraven the Hunter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s R-rated Spider-Man villain movie set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, will come to the streamer. The film painted Kraven as a violent hero, not a villain.

While the movie’s story was not exactly memorable, Kraven the Hunter‘s brutal action sequences are still some of the best in the superhero genre, meriting a watch on Disney+ if you have not seen it already. The Sony Marvel movie also features a much better version of Rhino compared to the one in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Are All Of Disney+’s New Spider-Man Releases Worth Watching?

As far as the three Spider-Man releases on Disney+ go, I would rank them in order of least to most deserving of a watch on the streamer as Kraven the Hunter, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. I do feel like all three deserve to be watched at least once.

Kraven might not be special, but its action scenes are creative and bloody, with Taylor-Johnson making for a great genre star. Spider-Man: Far From Home is a very different kind of Spider-Man movie, as it offers a globe-trotting adventure, not the usual New York action, and Gyllenhaal is magnetic as Mysterio. Finally, Spider-Man: No Way Home is a generational release and one of the most rewatchable superhero movies in the MCU.

When Will Spider-Man: Brand New Day Stream On Disney+

Spider-Man and The Hand Ninja Clan Brand New Day

At the time of writing, Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s Disney+ release date has yet to be revealed. However, a projection can be made. Recently, a listing for the film emerged on Blu-Ray.com, suggesting that the latest Spider-Man movie’s physical release will happen on November 17. If that is accurate, then Spider-Man: Brand New Day would likely arrive on digital VOD in mid to late October.

After that, Spider-Man: Brand New Day would first start streaming on Netflix, due to Sony’s Pay-1 deal with the streamer, around late November or early December. Sony’s movies are under a deal to arrive on Netflix in around 100 to 120 days, though that might vary in Brand New Day‘s case. Then, it will have an exclusive 18-month window there, with the new Spider-Man movie finally being released on Disney+ in May 2028, should the listing prove accurate.
