While I wouldn’t exactly call these a health food, they’re a fun, homemade, healthier-ish snack when you want something sweet without making an entire dessert. They’re also so easy to customize for the season! My kids used to love things like this as a special after-school treat.

Fun fall variations:

  • Pumpkin Spice: Add 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice to the peanut butter mixture and swap the Reese’s Pieces for white chocolate chips.
  • Apple Cinnamon: Skip the chocolate and add ½ teaspoon cinnamon plus a handful of finely chopped dried apples.
  •  Chocolate Peanut Butter: Add 2 tablespoons cocoa powder to the peanut butter mixture and use chocolate chips throughout.
  •  Trail Mix Style: Add chopped peanuts, sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds for extra crunch.

cook time: 30 MINUTES

total time: 40 MINUTES

These easy no-bake homemade Kudos bars combine crispy rice cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate chips and Reese’s Pieces for a chewy, crunchy, healthier-ish fall snack.

1

In a microwave-safe bowl, warm the peanut butter and honey for about 30–45 seconds. Stir until smooth.

2

Add the crispy rice cereal, oatmeal, and a pinch of salt, and gently stir until everything is coated.

3

Line an 8×8 square pan with parchment paper on the bottom. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan. Pack it down so the bars hold together.

4

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for 20 seconds at a time , until they melt when stirred.

5

Pour and spread the melted chocolate. Sprinkle the Reese’s candy over the top. Reregerate for about 30 minutes. Cut into bars and enjoy! I store them in the fridge.

These should keep well for about 5–7 days in an airtight container at room temperature. For the best texture, I’d recommend storing them in the refrigerator, where they can last about 1–2 weeks.
