Attack On Titan As We Know It Officially Ends December 2026

Attack on Titan has been through a lot in its relatively short life span. It catapulted to fame very early on when the anime debuted, and took ages to complete. But at that time, droves of fans were born, and the series ended up hosting tons of side projects, persisting to this day as one of the most accomplished modern shonen stories.

Now that the show is fully over though after its multi-part final season, some of that momentum has slowed. Thanks to an official announcement on X, we know that the Attack on Titan universe is taking a blow this month.

Attack on Titan Brave Order, which was released in Japan in 2022, is ending service on September 28, 2026. It was a decent four-year run, but it seems like the game wasn’t ready for a worldwide release, and it’ll never get one. As a co-op adventure for solo play (and multiplayer for up to three more friends) it was a salve for many Attack on Titan fans, but that era is ending soon.

Here’s the full announcement from the studio: “Thank you for playing Attack on Titan Brave Order. We regret to inform you that “Attack on Titan Brave Order” will be discontinued on Monday, September 28, 2026. We have decided to discontinue this service. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us since the launch of our service. We apologize for having to make this announcement.”

The termination notice has been officially posted on all the studio’s social accounts, prepping the player base for a full shutdown on September 28, 2026, at 17:30 Japan Standard Time. Service will be fully shut off at that time, and refunds for paid blue gems are being accepted at the moment. There’s only a certain number of gems that can be refunded, though, so keep that in mind if you happen to play in your region. Refunds also have to be done in the app.

To help ease the pain of the shutdown, the studio is providing extra events for the next month and a half. A special forces member revival gacha has been added to the game (using in-game currency instead of paid), more special items are being added to the shop, and experience boosts are going to be active until the shutdown.

The studio notes that they hope fans will “support Attack on Titan Brave Order until the very end.” If you’re a hardcore Attack on Titan fan, you might already have the game downloaded; so keep all this in mind if you have it on your device.
