Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, despite launching all the way back in 2022, are still going strong, with players tuning in for all manner of events taking place in-game. While these are likely to slow down any day now (although it feels as if we’ve been saying that for some time now) with the upcoming release of Winds and Waves ushering in a new era, for now they’re proving to be a rather enjoyable excuse to pop back in and continue playing or even start a new save altogether.
Among many of the upcoming and current Pokémon Scarlet and Violet events is the opportunity to get your hands on a rare Pokémon. This is obviously great news for those eager to complete their Pokédex or those simply after another strong ‘mon to add to their roster. Fortunately, it’s rather easy to get your hands on said rare Pokémon, but you won’t have long to do so, as the event expires in just 24 hours.
While it is undeniably true that the era of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is ending as a consequence of Winds and Waves’ upcoming arrival, it is great to see it continue to get support after four somewhat rough years, especially during the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebrations. This year alone has seen the games get a number of Tera Raid battles in which players can duke it out against strong Pokémon in the hopes of defeating them and thus adding them to their ever-growing box.
Adding to this huge swathe of Tera Raid battles is a new raid against a Dark Tera-type Kingambit. This latest Tera Raid event, which is the 92nd in the game’s history, has been running since August 28th, 2026, and concludes on September 3, 2026. It features the aforementioned 7-Star Kingambit with the Dark Tera type, which users have confirmed is relatively easy to beat, especially when compared to previous Tera Raid battles.
In order to get the Dark Tera-type Kingambit, players will first need to download the latest Poké Portal News before challenging the raid boss with friends or other players. Once you’ve beaten Kingambit, you’ll then just need to catch it with any Poké Ball. Alongside this Tera Raid are Mass Outbreaks of Kingambit in the Kitakami region, only available through the Teal Mask DLC, and Bisharp and Pawniard in Paldea. All of the aforementioned Pokémon are more likely to have the Charismatic Mark during this event.
Once the event ends on September 3, 2026, the Dark Tera-type Kingambit will no longer be available. So, those interested in taking it down will need to act fast. You can only have one of them per save file, so you only need to take part in the event once. It is likely that these Tera Raid events will begin to slow down in the coming months as Game Freak starts to prepare for the launch of Winds and Waves, so fans should definitely make the most of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet while they still can.
