Delap to Forest soon?

Nottingham Forest have entered formal negotiations with Chelsea for the transfer of striker Liam Delap, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Englishman had a frustrating debut season with the Blues last term, and he managed just two goals across all competitions. He has now been placed in the transfer market and it appears Forest are leading the race to sign him.

Forest have already entered advanced discussions with the Blues’ hierarchy for the former Ipswich Town man and a transfer could be formally finalised after tonight’s game against Fulham being played at Craven Cottage.

Chelsea have been looking for around £50m for the young marksman, but reports claim that a package in the region of £40m including add-ons could persuade the Blues to do business with the deadline fast approaching.

Delap was also on the radar of Serie A club Como earlier this summer. Como are in the Champions League this campaign, but Delap clearly has his sights on staying in England with another Premier League outfit.
