Warning: Spoilers for The End of Oak Street
The End of Oak Street offers its own spin on many dinosaurs that moviegoers may be familiar with. It also features several creatures far less common to see on the silver screen. The result is an adventure among prehistoric creatures that feels unlike other dinosaur-themed movies, including Jurassic Park.
Dinosaur fans will be pleased to learn that The End of Oak Street actually crams many creatures into its 1 hour 40 minute runtime. It even subverts expectations by omitting a few famous carnivores, including the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptor. Audiences may also be surprised by the fresh appearance of some dinosaurs they know and love.
Characters in The End of Oak Street don’t specifically name any creatures in the movie. This means it’s surprisingly difficult to tell what some dinosaurs are supposed to be, whether they are loosely based on real creatures, or if they are entirely made up. We cannot identify every dinosaur in the movie with absolute certainty, though we can draw some solid conclusions.
It’s also important to note that The End of Oak Street never implies it’s trying to create an accurate representation of its prehistoric creatures. Nevertheless, here’s every dinosaur that appears in The End of Oak Street, and what they are likely based on.

Ankylosaurus
Several herbivores appear, yet have very little screen time in The End of Oak Street. As we mentioned earlier, some creatures look quite different from what audiences might expect, though one herbivore does resemble an Ankylosaurus.
It’s important to note that the Ankylosaurus-like dinosaur appears only briefly on screen and looks spikier than in some other depictions. That said, it loosely resembles the NHM (Natural History Museum) image of an Ankylosaurus, and it’s great to see a well-known herbivore, even if only in a glimpse.
The Ankylosaurus is a large herbivore with armored plates along its back and a club-like tail for fending off predators. We unfortunately don’t get to see it in action too much during The End of Oak Street, but it’s a welcome inclusion nonetheless.

Pteranodon
No movie with dinosaurs would be complete without at least one type of flying lizard. The End of Oak Street stands out in this regard, as it showcases several species, though they’re difficult to identify as some have less screen time than others.
We’ll cover the larger pterosaur next, though some of the smaller flying creatures may be Pteranodon. The NHM has several Pterosaur exhibits showcasing them, and the creatures in the movie seem similar, even if we don’t get a clear, extended look at them.
The End of Oak Street continues to introduce new creatures of all shapes and sizes throughout the story, and flying creatures like the Pteranodon only make the ecosystem feel more alive.

Tropeognathus
The End of Oak Street depicts flying lizards as a very real threat to the Platt family. The movie also features more than one type of pterosaur, and one appears to be Tropeognathus.
The Tropeognathus is a large flying creature with an imposing bill and talons. In the movie, several Tropeognathus attack the survivors, and they are so large that they appear capable of lifting and dragging anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in their grasp.
Concept images of what a Tropeognathus might look like are hard to find, though the University of Valencia does have a picture that loosely resembles the creature in the film. It’s also refreshing to see more than one type of flying creature at once in a dinosaur movie.

Titanoboa
One of the scariest encounters in The End of Oak Street is with a giant snake-like creature. It silently slithers into a house as our heroes gather supplies, and seems to be so enormous that it fills much of the house at once, including the staircase.
As with several entries on this list, we cannot say with absolute certainty that the creature is a Titanoboa, though it does fit the bill. The snake-like creature is the star of one of the most tense and frightening scenes in the movie, and is a great addition as the movie dips into light horror.
The Titanoboa in The End of Oak Street is also particularly striking for its pale skin. Viewers who are afraid of snakes will likely feel uneasy, but it’s a big highlight of the movie.

Garjainia
It’s hard to confirm with absolute certainty that the crocodile-like creature in The End of Oak Street is a Garjainia. However, based on a National Geographic image, it could be. The inclusion of the Garjainia would also be remarkable because it’s not even a dinosaur.
We debated including this creature on the list because it’s quite unclear precisely what it’s meant to be. Still, they do feature quite prominently during one particularly tense scene, so it wouldn’t be right not to include them, or at least theorize what they could be.
At least three Garjainia surround the survivors in a cramped house during the movie. They have a similar build to crocodiles, though notably more stocky. The reptiles also have large heads, which gives us enough to go on for identification.

Coelophysis
Audiences may have mistaken the Coelophysis for a Velociraptor at first. It’s one of the earliest dinosaurs to appear in The End of Oak Street, and seems to be slightly shorter than an adult human. It’s also clearly a carnivore, and we see it attack multiple people.
Oddly enough, Coelophysis has more screen time than the vast majority of dinosaurs in the movie. The NHM classifies the Coelophysis as a small theropod, about the same height as a person crouching. It’s responsible for some tense moments in the movie, as the Platt family tries to figure out what is happening to the town.
If the creature is indeed meant to be a Coelophysis, the version in The End of Oak Street is a little larger than it should be. Still, it’s a treat to see another unique dinosaur added to the roster.

Stegosaurus
No dinosaur movie would be complete without one of the most famous herbivores of all, the Stegosaurus. The dinosaur makes a brief appearance in The End of Oak Street, with a curious quirk in its design.
The Stegosaurus appears to have four rows of plates down its back, although in real life, it typically only has two. Nevertheless, it’s a safe bet to assume it’s supposed to be a Stegosaurus, though it doesn’t command much screen time.

Camarasaurus
The Camarasaurus is responsible for one of the most shocking scenes in The End of Oak Street and one that audiences will likely be talking about long after the credits. In fact, we see two of them in great detail, and they are giant long-necked dinosaurs, taller than a house.
As Camarasaurus is a herbivore, it’s of no threat to our heroes in the 2026 movie. It’s a sauropod, so it has a long neck, though it’s very different from the Brachiosaurus that’s since become synonymous with wondrous scenes in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. The Camarasaurus in The End of Oak Street is stockier than the Brachiosaurus audiences may be familiar with.

Spinosaurus
Moviegoers who have seen Jurassic Park 3 will immediately recognize the Spinosaurus. The famous carnivore shows up more than once in The End of Oak Street, with its iconic sailfin down its back.
Eagle-eyed viewers may notice that the Spinosaurus is quite similar to the one in Jurassic Park 3. Its design is notably different from what experts believe the creature looked like. Per the NHM, it’s widely believed that the Spinosaurus had a wide paddle-like tail, as the creature was presumably a water dweller.
The Spinosaurus is responsible for a particularly tense moment in the movie with long-lasting consequences. We also see it have a drink from an outdoor pool, even if it doesn’t swim.

Allosaurus
The Allosaurus is The End of Oak Street’s answer to the Tyrannosaurus Rex, featuring prominently in pre-release material. It’s the large threatening carnivore in the movie, and the star of the show after the survivors. It’s also responsible for arguably the most jaw-dropping moment in the entire film.
The Allosaurus runs on two legs and is surprisingly nimble, considering its size. It appears to be the apex predator and is merely inconvenienced by any attempts to stop it. The Allosaurus lives up to its fearsome reputation in The End of Oak Street. It’s a formidable hunter with huge, threatening teeth and the speed to back it up.
The T. Rex may be the most famous dinosaur, and it was arguably a bold choice not to feature it. Nevertheless, it gives the creature selection in The End of Oak Street a unique flavor compared to other dinosaur movies, and the Allosaurus is a brilliant addition.
