Chalobah moves to Como

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has made the move to Serie A side Como for an initial fee of around £26 million.

The Englishman was made available in the transfer market during the World Cup after the Blues decided to pursue a deal for Maxence Lacroix.

Lacroix formally joined the club from Crystal Palace earlier this month, and Chalobah has now officially signed for Como on a long-term contract.

Como have been the surprise packages in Italy since their Serie A promotion and surprised many with Champions League qualification last term.

They have higher ambitions for the future under manager Cesc Fabregas, and Chalobah should prove a quality signing for the Italian outfit.

Chalobah was one of the standout central defenders for the Blues, but the club decided to cash in on him amid his desire for more game time.

There could be more departures from Chelsea soon. Central defensive duo Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi are expected to be sold too.
