Milan bolster defence with Diawara signing

AC Milan have announced the signing of versatile defender Sankhoun Diawara from Troyes.

The 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract through to June 2031 for a reported €3m.

Diawara had been the subject of interest from Rangers, but he opted to make the switch to San Siro instead.

Diawara made 17 appearances for Troyes’ first team, having come up through their academy, making his debut for the senior side in September 2025.

He made 14 appearances in Ligue 2, getting one assist, and helping the team gain promotion to Ligue 1 after a three-year absence.

Diawara, who can play as a centre-back or a left-back, is Milan’s third signing of the transfer window, following Goncalo Ramos and Mario Gila into the club.
